We've started a new writing unit!  We are studying the writing of our mentor author, Donald Crews, and trying to use some of his craft moves in our own small moments stories!

We've conducted a few water cycle experiments this week, focusing on the importance of the sun to the process.  First, students made and observed the water cycle in a bag.  Then we collected snow and observed what happened to the snow/water level when we exposed it to heat.
We received a very exciting letter from Ms. Honan on Thursday!

We also received another response from a persuasive letter sent to the Department of Fish and Wildlife asking them to better protect polar bears!

In math we've been studying composite shapes and 3D shapes.
In reading we've started using a new fiction book sheet to 'talk back' to our books and showcase our comprehension.
